Flickr is a much better place to showcase your photos. You lose no information while uploading your shots on to Flickr. Plus it's a community based site where you critic and comment on others photos. There are professional photographers on Flickr who will help you with your shots as well. I think it's a great site. Definitely get it. Tell me when you get it
